Dungarthill Members’ Event 31st May-1st June, 2025

Despite the weather, Dungarthill provided quite a busy and productive weekend. Gregor was there to keep us right and being more of a perfectionist than some of us he took his responsibilities seriously.

Archie had the ground cleared, and directed us to his priorities. Robert decided to re-do some wonky copes which offended his eye. We also had Gordon T, new member from Kirkcaldy, and Chris G from Kirriemuir, with Oliver from Burmieston, Bill, and myself and of course Archie working with us all day.

Gregor supervises new members making order out of a ‘ rickle o’ stanes’, Archie and Trish working far away on the final section.

We continued the wall between field and burn and also worked on the very end section so that Archie could line up with what he was working towards. There was quite a lot of wobbly wall between, so let’s hope we can get back next year.

There was a bumblebee protest on the lower section of the wall, but I think they found their burrow, the odd toad, as well as red kites and buzzards overhead in this lovely location. As usual, our hosts looked after us well. Gregor, Robert, Chris and I worked with Archie on the Sunday. We hope that Chris will do a pro course and qualification at HQ, and we discussed the possibility of the branch giving financial assistance. He’s very keen and already experienced in path building.

Triumphant - Chris, Gregor and Robert show off the finished upper section.
