Repair and Build at Dungarthill 7-8 May, 2022

A great turnout! On Saturday there were nine of us: Kate A, Florence Germain, Jim Grant, Richard Pawlyn, Neil Henderson, Robert Dunlop, Bill Thomson, Bob Pawson and me ably assisted by Archie Gibson, our host . Sunday was good too with Neil, Bob, Robert, Bill and me joined by Elaine Ross.

Inspecting the wall before work began.

The team busy at work on various sections of wall in need of repair.

Our grand team achieved a lot . We were engaged in various repairs alongside the estate road, trying to stabilise bulges, rebuild collapses, build steps up into a woodland walk with one cheekend (mostly created beautifully by Neil).

Archie loves his horribly huge coping stones and luckily we had some heavy lifters amongst us .

We were very well looked after by the Gibsons.

Later and final stages including steps and finished walls

Our next visit in June will be slightly less arduous, repairing wall alongside a flat field - lower and less dangerous! Our hosts will be away, so we’ll have to take our own refreshments- though tea and coffee making facilities will be left for us.
